Bushmen of Southern Africa

The Bushmen of Southern have inhabited the Southern African region for tens of thousands of years. They still survive today and live much the same way they always have. They were the first known humans to inhabit this region and were here long before any of the black or Inguni tribes appeared. They are also known as the San people.

The Bushmen were expert hunters and trackers and lived in harmony with nature. They saw themselves as equal inhabitants of the land along with the animals.

They were among the first humans to practices art. Rock paintings and carvings are found all over the region and give us an insight to their spiritual culture. Some dating back 20,000 years and more. Their art did not only depict everyday life but had a profound religious and spiritual meaning.
